Building Your Site

When you choose to build a site with me, I can guarantee timeliness, open communication, and your satisfaction - or your money back. We will discuss your goals for the web site before, during, and after the web build/redesign. Learn more about my specific services, see examples of work in my portfolio, or contact me to get started or ask any questions that you may have..

I create web pages using Wordpress, Joomla, Google Sites, Weebly, and more depending on the specific needs for your site. Joomla is my preferred site builder, you can learn more about Joomla below. I am more than happy to also evaluate your current site provider if you would like to continue with it, or see if it is viable for the changes you are looking for.

About Joomla

Joomla is a FREE system that makes creating and editing web sites simple and fast. If you can edit a word document, you can edit the vast majority of your site in Joomla. Some more reasons I like Joomla:

  1. Open Source - Open source software is free to use! This means that I don't have to pay for proprietary software, and therefore that cost is not passed on to you. When updates are made to Joomla, they are free to use, in contrast with most proprietary software which make you pay for a new license AND THEN stop supporting the older version that you may still want to use.
  2. It is pretty darn easy to learn - As part of my repertoire of services, I can teach you and your staff (if applicable) how to update your web site by yourself. Goodbye to waiting for a web designer in a different location to update your site for you.

Here are some examples of pages that use Joomla

More examples of companies using Joomla can be found in the Joomla Community Site Showcase. (This information is taken from http://www.joomla.org/about-joomla.html)

If this is your first site or you want to update an existing site, you may not be needing all of the features of the sites above. Below are examples of Joomla sites that are for small business, community organizations, and small- to mid-size nonprofits.
